On 13 November, 2007, at the OEWG, IPEN hosted a side event on mercury and its effects on human health. Chaired by IPEN Co-Chair Prof. Jamidu Katima, this event featured Dr. Irma Makalinao from the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of the Philippines, College of Medicine as the keynote speaker.
