Pamela Miller Elected as IPEN's New Co-Chair

Pamela Miller

IPEN is pleased to confirm that the IPEN General Assembly has formally endorsed Ms. Pamela Miller as the next IPEN Co-Chair.

Pamela has a long history of organizing experience, including her role as the Executive Director of Alaska Community Action on Toxics, contributor to IPEN’s POPRC and Stockholm Convention COP policy work, and organizer with Indigenous Peoples in the Arctic.

Pamela will be serving as Co-Chair together with Dr. Olga Speranskaya, replacing Manny Calanzo, who is stepping down. In addition to congratulating Pam as an incoming Co-Chair, IPEN acknowledges the exceptional efforts and achievements by Manny, who has been a stellar leader for IPEN for numerous years. For example, Manny’s leadership in IPEN’s Honoring Minamata Campaign strengthened IPEN’s global movement as we united with the mercury pollution victims and community leaders from Minamata. Together we improved the outcome of the Treaty negotiations, and humanized the impacts and victims from toxic pollution. Manny will continue to remain active in IPEN.

Congratulations Pam and thank you Manny! Together we will continue to advance IPEN onwards and upwards towards a toxics-free future!
