Lead Poisoning Prevention Week of Action October 19-25, 2014

October 19-25 is International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week of Action, sponsored by the World Health Organization. More than 50 events are scheduled around the world. IPEN Participating Organizations will host a number of these, including educational meetings in Armenia, school programs in Nepal, an art competition in Bangladesh, a new radio jingle in India, a banner raising in Indonesia, media activities in Cameroon and many more. Find a full list of activities here.

Lead paint continues to be sold throughout the developing world and is the major source of lead exposure in children. In the more than 30 developing countries where IPEN has analyzed paints, the majority of paints have dangerously high lead content. Learn more about IPEN’s work on lead in paint and about IPEN Participating Organizations' activities during the 2014 Week of Action.
