This report presents findings of a study completed by the Research Centre for Rural Development (RCRD) at An Giang University. The purpose of the project study was to provide a general overview of pesticides registered and used in Vietnam, and on what crops; to identify manufacturers and exporters; to outline efforts in the country to phase out the use of highly hazardous pesticides and the challenges therein; and to provide information about the use of alternative, non-chemical approaches such as agro-ecology in agricultural practices in Vietnam.
This report relates to Sustainable Development Goals 2, 3, 6, 8, 12, 13, 14 and 15.
Special thanks to IPEN's Southeast & East Asia Regional Coordinator Lia Esquillo and Regional Hub EcoWaste Coalition for their important contributions to the development and finalization of the project.
