No Glyphosate Imports: Civil Society Organizations Request Continuation of the Ban on Glyphosate Imports

Groups Also Call for a National Phase Out and An Agro-Ecological Transition of the Food System in Mexico

More than 180 non-governmental organizations, social groups and academics from different universities sent a letter to the federal authorities to maintain the ban on imports of glyphosate by the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) and move forward for a national phase out of all uses. In addition, the groups call for measures to guarantee the protection of human rights to health and the environment, and an agroecological transition of the food system, which is more necessary than ever due to COVID -19. The letter is supported by IPEN, Pesticide Action Network International and members in Latin America, among many others.
