Extracting gold with mercury exacts a lethal toll
IPEN Participating Organization BaliFokus is featured in this PBS NewsHour video about mercury poisoning due to small scale gold mining activities in indonesia.
Due to BaliFokus' tireless work on this issue, the Indonesian government will be developing a National Action Plan for the Health Sector to manage the risk and impact of mercury to human health. This Plan will cover mercury impacts from various sectors and BaliFokus has been invited to contribute.
