POPs pesticides and hazardous waste incineration in the Czech Republic.
The Czech Ecological Society examined POPs pesticides in the Czech Republic, which included a brief overview about POPs pesticide residue levels in the whole country and in all media. This report highlighted some serious hotspots polluted by POPs, and it was used as one of the basic materials for comments on the National Implementation Plan of the Stockholm Convention. The second task of the Czech Ecological Society activity was a policy brief focused on hazardous waste incineration in light of the Stockholm Convention. There are tens of hazardous waste incinerators operating in the Czech Republic. The policy brief focused on dioxins and other unintentionally produced POPs releases from these facilities.
