Southeast Asia International POPs Elimination Project meeting and skillshare on enhancing NGO/CSO participation in the National Implementation Plans on POPs.

Thirty representatives of non-government organizations (NGOs) and civil society organizations (CSOs) gathered in Bangkok, Thailand on April 2-3, 2005, for the "Southeast Asia International POPs Elimination Project Meeting and Skillshare on Enhancing NGO/CSO Participation in the National Implementation Plans on POPs." Organized by the Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives (GAIA) and the Pesticide Action Network (PAN Philippines) and hosted by the Thai POPs Elimination Network (ThaiPEN) through the Campaign for Alternative Industry Network (CAIN) and Greenpeace Southeast Asia, the event was primarily held to foster better appreciation and understanding of the opportunities for increasing people's engagement and participation in the national processes in preparation for the implementation of the Stockholm Convention on POPs.
