IPEN members work for national regulations to end the production and use of lead paint and conduct sampling and testing of paints sold in their countries to expose ongoing lead paint sales.

National research by IPEN members

Research on Lead Paint

See the 2024 updated database of IPEN lead paint studies since 2007. This database serves as a comprehensive technical archive for IPEN’s global lead paint testing initiative.

National Lead Paint Reports

A comprehensive archive of country-based reports documenting lead levels in paint samples tested worldwide since 2007. Compiled by IPEN, the data includes over studies on more than 5,000 household, industrial, and playground paints from nearly 60 countries.

National Advocacy for Global Action

IPEN members advocate for their government to support listing lead chromates, the key pigments used to make lead paint, to the Rotterdam Convention’s list of chemicals requiring prior informed consent for imports.

Paint industry professionals can learn more about eliminating lead from paint on the Lead Safe Paint website.
