2030 Strategic Plan: Summary

IPEN’s mission is a healthy, toxics-free future for all. Since 1998, IPEN has worked for a world in which chemicals are no longer produced or used in ways that harm human health or the environment. IPEN’s work protects human health and the environment from the production, use, and disposal of toxic chemicals, especially in low- and middle-income countries. Recognizing that environmental damage and the health impacts from hazardous chemicals can threaten the enjoyment of all human rights, IPEN envisions a world where all people enjoy the human right to clean, healthy, toxics-free and sustainable environments where they live, work, learn, and play.
Over the next five years, IPEN aims to further solidify its role as the leading global network working for a healthy, toxics-free future. IPEN will strengthen its engagement with and support to its member groups, including fostering regional and cross-regional collaborations. IPEN will also deepen current engagements and initiate new partnerships with medical and public health experts and leading organizations, to further expand the toxics-free movement and build greater capacity for scientific and technical investigations. Throughout its work, IPEN will fight for the human right to healthy environments because toxics-free environments are a prerequisite for the enjoyment of this right.
