Eliminating Toxic Pollutants for a Healthier Environment

More than a century of industrial production and use of hazardous chemicals has resulted in a legacy of toxic pollution and buildup of plastic waste in the terrestrial environment and oceans. IPEN is committed to working toward ensuring a reduction and elimination of harmful pollutants to end contamination of our environments, our oceans, and our bodies and to promote healthy environments for future generations.

Oceans Conference 2022

IPEN participates in the UN Ocean Conference to raise the concerns around plastics and toxic chemical pollutants in the oceans and to connect the discussions to other global policy forums on plastics and chemicals.

In 2022, IPEN co-hosted two events at the UN Oceans Conference: “A Plastics Treaty for Our Oceans and Our Health” (Co-hosted with EIA, Common Seas, and OceanCare) and “The Invisible Global Crisis: Exceeding the Limits of the Pollution Planetary Boundary.”
