IPEN members around the world conduct scientific studies and produce original research documenting threats from toxic chemicals, advocating for national policies to protect community health and the environment.

National research by IPEN members

Pesticides

IPEN members conduct original research and advocate for national regulations on hazardous pesticides.

EDCS

IPEN members conduct research and awareness campaigns on risks from EDCs, including the common plastic chemicals phthalates and bisphenols.

Plastics

IPEN has produced original research and exposed threats from toxic plastic chemicals for more than 20 years.

PFAS

IPEN members research PFAS and threats to health from these “forever chemicals” in the environment and in consumer products and advocate for national and global rules to protect people and the planet.

Toxic Waste

Many lower- and middle-income countries are dumping grounds for toxic waste from wealthier nations - especially plastic waste. IPEN members document the toxic waste trade and call for national policies to protect communities from hazardous waste.

Chemical Pollutants in China

From 2013-2015, Arnika, IPEN, and IPEN’s member group in China at the time, Green Beagle, documented toxic threats from chemical factories, pesticides and agrochemical production, waste incinerators, and other sources, finding lax regulations and exposing industry cover ups of their polluting practices.
