Chemical Threats to Women and Youth

Women and children face different and often more significant threats from toxic chemicals due to gendered social roles, biology, and other factors. IPEN’s women and youth caucuses play key roles in bringing voices of these leaders into chemical policy deliberations.

Women and Chemicals

IPEN is a leading expert group on issues around chemical threats to women’s health, including through a partnership with UNEP to produce groundbreaking reports and work to highlight women’s role as leaders in chemical safety policy forums.

To further the realization of the UN Sustainable Development Goal of gender equality, IPEN developed an initiative and a Women’s Caucus to empower women in our work to achieve a toxics-free future. The Caucus is an active force within IPEN and works in partnership with leading women’s health and women’s rights organizations globally.
