Country situation report on POPs in Tanzania.
The report includes information on stockpiles and other sources of POPs; levels of POPs and condition of obsolete pesticide facilities; adverse effects of POPs; Tanzanian laws regulating POPs; the state of Stockholm Convention ratification and national laws concerning POPs; public awareness and NGO activities; and alternatives to POPs. It is a useful reference document on POPs that provides the basic information required by NGOs in Tanzania to prepare awareness-raising activities and materials, identify further areas of investigation, plan campaigns, and prepare for a meaningful role in NIP preparations.
